Twins field trip to the zoo… October 11, 2011

Yesterday we chaperoned the twins field trip to Lowry Park Zoo.  We had a blast!!  The weather was beautiful, nice breeze and a little over cast, so it wasn’t to hot.  In Group #2 (which was our group) we had Gunner and Reagan as well as another set of boy, girl twins, and Faith who you may see as the cute little brunette.  If you notice behind Gunner and Reagan is an orangatang…he seemed to really enjoy getting his picture taken.  He just ignored us and continued about his business with his leaf and what not, watching all the animals walk by, probably thinking the same thing about us as we were of him…not sure what but something, like how come they don’t have hair all over them, anyway, moving along…

Here is the rest of the class.  All of them holding Flat Stanley, yes, even Stanley was able to come with us to the Zoo…Oh, silly Stanley!!  Behind Gunner’s head the lady is holding a Possum, yuck!!  And of course all the children wanted to pet it and kiss it…no matter how clean those things are there is just something creepy about them, maybe their beady eyes or nasty tail.  Susie and Will are the other set of twins, down on bottom right…Will is the one with his mouth wide open, which is how it was most of the day, he was always talking and ready to move on to the next thing.

I told you his mouth was opened most of the time.  Here we were in front of the bird atrium…I should have asked why did they put a kimono Dragon in front of the bird atrium…now that I think about it, that’s weird!  And wouldn’t you know it they put a gift shop in the front, so you walk through to go in and you have to walk out of the gift shop to leave, very clever!!

In the back you will see Mrs. Newhard Gunner and Reagan’s teacher.  Very sweet lady!

Here is one of the birds in the atrium, it’s a Lorikeet.  Chad kept trying to get it to get on his finger, but he kept biting him.  Usually you can feed them, but of course when we got there they had just eaten.  Same thing happened with the Giraffes, they weren’t hungry.  All in all we had a great day!  Look forward to doing it again next year with Avaree…maybe the birds will be hungry…

Great start, to a new school year!! October 3, 2011

Remi and her posse on her birthday…this year we had a purplicious birthday.  She enjoyed her purple cupcakes!!

Starting from the left is sweet little Avaree, Mack a Doo, our neighbor Abby, Maddie, one of Remi’s friends from school, Claire, Kaydence Remi’s bestfriend, Nia her cousin, and last but not least Rae Rae.

I know it’s been awhile since we’ve  posted anything, With school starting, football finishing (praise Jesus!)  oh, did I say that out loud?  So, here is a little bit of what has been going on in the Hudson’s house.  Fisher is still not walking.  He has a full mouth of teeth, can snap his fingers, can say a couple of small phrases, but yes you heard me correctly, no desire to walk…none!!  But who would walk if any time they pooted someone picked them up to carry them?  Not sure what Fisher was eating, but he had it all over his face!   He is so precious though, it’s hard not to want to squeeze him.  He has the sweetest personality and loves to just cuddle, and give kisses.  We are still trying to figure out what is causing his skin to break out to badly, he is constently scratching.  We have changed everything he eats, logging anything that causes a reaction, now I am even making homemade laundry detergent.  We will be full fledge tree hugger before this is all over.  We find things he really likes, and stick with it…the list is very small.  We have found sunbutter which has replaced peanut butter and he loves it!!  We have a brown rice bread that he devours, I’m glad he likes it because it’s like stale bread.  We are learning that there are all types of foods now to cater to people with food allergies…even cake mix!!  Today I bought him some noodles.  He loves Ring Pops!!!  As you will see below…On a different note we would like to introduce you all to Flat Stanley, the reason we are introducing Stanley to you so because he may be coming to visit you…so, don’t be surprised if Stanley doesn’t show up in your mailbox.  Below you will see that Stanley went to work with Chad, he was very helpful.  Now keep in mind you will not have both Stanley’s, so please don’t feel overwhelmed,  they have come to our house twice and they are very well behaved!  As you see they wash dishes,  bake, and if you need some wood cut they are also very handy with a wood splitter.  No job too big for Stanley.

Fort Wilderness 2011… August 19, 2011

On most trips to Fort Wilderness we spend most of our time at the campground.  This trip a very dear friend of our family provided us with  tickets to go to Disney, so we were able to enjoy the Magic Kingdom, and because of the pool at Fort Wilderness being the temp. of a luke warm bath (don’t want to put too much thought into why), we decided to do some pool hoping around disney resorts.  This pic was us getting on the ferry to go over to the Contemporary, which is the hotel where the Disney monorail travels through.

To the right you will see Remi and Mack enjoying a little snack while the others kidos went with Daddy to rife Space Mountain.  I have to say Reagan, Avaree, and Gunner went on SM twice, once with Dad and then again with Mom.

After a day of sweating in your diaper, what could be more relaxing than a nice bath in your garden tub?  We had the pleasure of family and some friends come and visit while we were in Orlando, we even had Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ron from Kentucky come as well.

Oh look, it’s the scurvy pirates, or is that Jack Sparo?
To be continued…

Trip to the beach August 15, 2011

Well…I believe we have some catching up to do!   The kidos and I have made a couple of trips to Honeymoon Island to enjoy a picnic, or lack there of.  I’m not sure how many of you have seen the movie…I think it may have been called “Birds” from the 60’s or 70’s maybe, anyway it’s about these birds that attack from what I have seen.  Let’s just say in all the years I have visited the beach, NEVER have I had a segal remove a whole sandwich from my hand…this actually happened to Reagan.

Aside from being attack by these rabid demon birds, we had a great time, our children I think may actually be mermaids.  I am not an ocean swimmer to say the least, our babies couldn’t get enough, even Remi.  While we were at the beach Fisher was at home with Ms. Tina.  I’m not sure what all they did, but I’m pretty sure that Fisher cleaning out from under the kitchen table was probably one of their past times…he is a very diligent cleaner.

Here you will see how proud of himself he is, not just because he was able to squeeze himself through the chairs, but what a good job he did cleaning up the Kix…and he did it without grumbling or complaining, job well done Fish!!

Second Date… July 9, 2011

Our second date is “real physical beauty”, our verse is Song of Songs 6:8-9 Sixty queens there may be and eight concubines and virgins beyond number; but my dove, my perfect one, is unique. I was just relieved they did not ask me what a virgin was…thank you Lord!!   We talked about how God has made us all different and unique, so part of our date was to get pampered.

After we did our pedicures, we later did facials…I did facials on Mackinley and Reagan and then, they did a facial on mommy…

Before our facials the girls and I looked in the mirror to admire our uniqueness.  Mackinley’s dimples and beautiful big eyes, and Reagan’s pouty lips with her little beauty mark and her little bald spot on her head where she tells everyone God kissed her.  I let them look through a teen vogue and seventeen magazine…don’t judge me!!  I removed the pages that were too inappropriate.  The point was to show them how the world portrays false beauty, how these magazines are altered to enhance false beauty and remove the uniqueness from the pics, which is what makes us beautiful.

We still have to finish our devo, and as a gift to Mackinley we gave her a bag of scrapbook materials to record our memories of God’s masterpiece.

Our baby boy is growing up…

It’s hard to believe a year ago Fish was born into this world.  What a precious face…

Fisher was able to enjoy some cake for his birthday, gluten, milk, and soy free…delightful!!  Truthfully it wasn’t half bad.  He didn’t seem to care, he was a little hesitant at first, like he is with any food you put in front of him, but once he got a little taste of the chocolate on top…it was gone!!  There were even a few other brave little people who decided to try it.

I thought this was so sweet, Gunner giving his baby brother a little rub on his head…he is so proud to have another little man is the family, also appearing to be patiently waiting and wishing he would hurry up and take the first bite of his cupcake were the little people waiting behind him so that they could get their pick of the cupcakes…

Fisher waiting for his birthday kiss from his little woman…actually they didn’t want much to do with one another, usually Caris is trying to tackle him and he is screaming.  Fisher was more fascinated with Daddy’s pen, and Caris was looking around for her mama.

Bowling… June 30, 2011

Today we ventured out to Z-hylls to knock down some pins.  They all did great!!   The gentleman next to us gave the kidos some tips on proper bowling etiquette.  He was very nice about it.  Luckily we had the bumpers up…there would have been a few gutter balls.  There were a few ceiling tiles missing but for the most part we stayed in our own lane, except Nia-peah who attempted to knock down the pins in the lane next to us…you did good, girl!!!  We played hard, so hard that some had to take beverage breaks regularly…Remi, she was just soooooooooooo thirsty!!!  Some of the issues we had were minor, such as the fact that bowling shoes are just that, bowling shoes, they are not supposed to be pretty, I’m mean, really who would want to steal bowling shoes?  Bowling shoes do not come in boy colors, and they do not come in exact sizes.  There was some drama with the shoes.

And of course little Fish was there cheering everyone on.  Update for the fam on Fisher’s allergies…our sweet baby is allergic to, wheat, egg whites, peanuts, milk, this includes goats milk, he is also allergic to soy, and sadly he is allergic to the dogs:-(  Naarah is no longer permitted upstairs.  We have scheduled an appointment with an allergists July 13th.  At that time we will know more than we do now of what foods he can eat. Most important is to make sure he is getting his calcium for his little bones…he ate a little too many prunes today…lets just say, the boys’ colon is cleansed!!  I will say just since yesterday when we found out, he has had no dairy, and his bedroom has been cleaned of hopefully most of the dog hair, and he sounds better, has hardly coughed at all, and did not have to wipe his nose once…will continue to keep everyone up to date with how he is doing.  Chad was saying we should certainly count our blessing…6 kids and the worst we’ve dealt with is food allergies, God is great!!!!
